One thing I love about HTML is you can change things or tweak them if you want without relying on a plug-in.  People are always afraid, which I understand, messing with their code.  But if you don’t try you won’t learn.

So without much more, I am going to share some easy ones, if you have used the code before you will probably find this to be ‘below’ you, but if not, stick around.

HTML Headings

HTML headings are defined with the <h1> to <h6> tags. H1 tags are the biggest while H6 tags are the smallest.

<h1>This is heading 1</h1>
<h2>This is heading 2</h2>
<h3>This is heading 3</h3>

so you see what each line above looks like:

This is heading 1

This is heading 2

This is heading 3

HTML paragraphs are defined with the <p> tag

as you see below to do individual paragraphs you want to do this:

<p>This is a paragraph.</p>
<p>This is another paragraph.</p>

Using the above code you will get the result below. You just have to remember if you start a line with a <p> you have to make sure when you are done that you end with a closing tag or </p>

This is a paragraph.

This is another paragraph.

That one above is pretty simple especially if you don’t really have to use it when using WordPress’s Visual area.

Bold, Italic, Underline

Ok so to bold you need to start with this <b> and say this is what you want bolded</b> (this ends the bold) see below the results from the code right above.

and say this is what you want bolded

if you want it to be italic you would do this <i>and say this is what you want italic</i>(this ends the italic) see below the results from the code right above.

and say this is what you want italic

if you want it to be underlined then you would do this <u> and say this is what you would be underlined</u> (this ends the underline)

and say this is what you would be underlined

HTML links are defined with the <a> tag.  So when you see something that is linked this is how it happens.

<a href=””>What U Talking Bout Willis?</a>

What U Talking Bout Willis?

I know some may feel this is all “easy” but I am sure there are some out there that may not know some of these things, so this post is for you.
